Twenty compositions
Since the first visit to this small island, which is so close to the major cities of Lombardy, Ciro Perrino is deeply impressed by the wondrous path that meanders around the walls of the monastery.
It is a combination of beauty and simplicity. You can reach a connection of beauty and simplicity when you open yourself up to enlightened consciousness and the divine.
As the landscape evokes music, Ciro composes, as always the medium – finally the music already exists – using the above thoughts, a twenty small musical adventures that he considers the landscapes of our soul. Every thought on the sign forms a composition, twenty in total.
Symphony Orchestra
In 2002 these compositions are performed with a classical symphony orchestra and released by Warner on the album L'ISOLA. Also released in the United States.
The album has the blessing of Mother Superior at the monastery with which she blesses the deep harmony between the source of inspiration and the completed album.
L’ISOLA is therefore no longer one of the musical projects of a selective composer as Ciro, but a new chapter in the secret history of one of the few left sources for contemplations and sobriety in one of the most stressful areas in Italy.
The choice for a symphony orchestra is perfect. Exclusively by a classical instrumentation all colors of the musical palette are filled in. A whole group with strings and wind instruments, the presence of a soprano and an alt to view the vocal themes properly on a both classical and modern way.
